Edmondo Albertella said he intensely loved Cannobio where he was 6 th September 1934 , because right from primary school it ricognised his artistic talents.
With humble dedication he started studying art under the teachings of Prof. Malapelle at the “ School of Arts and Tades “ where she was Head .
From the painter Mazzetta , he gained the basics of figurative art , drawing precision , prospective and light and shade effects.

At the age of 14 , he studied for three years under Prof. Mario Albertella at his Art Studio in Milan, working on frescoes , glass, decorating , mosaics and restoration .
At 17, Albertella confronted the working world in the hotelier business where his sensitivity became refined , stimulated by the desidere to draw and paint .

Through research he found inspiration in the art of the 17 th and 18 th Century and, in particular, the study of impressionist artist and Macchiaioli .
He elaborated sensations , he did not copy but observed, he suffered and was capable of expessing light , shadow , soft or bright colours and warm or cold colours .
He believed himself to be neo figurative and at the time had no intention of abandoning this vein of research .
The search for tuition , which Cannobio offered him was not wasted . He frequented the artist and architect Luigi Curti and by implementing the secrets of his technique learned to draw the landscapes of Cannobio in pastel . In these , his love of Cannobio highlights a very charming atmosphere , misted in sadness and engaging fascination .

However , Albertella ‘s painting goes beyond the limits of horizon landscaping to sweep over a surprising variety of techniques and subjects .
His stil life works are fascinating thanks to the harmony of the objects . A group of precious or antique items , warm of colour and taste or cold as a reminder of regrets .
The sensation they provoke are rich of history and desire and this is why they are very much appreciated .
Flowers painted with a careful choice of colours , seem to release their perfume , the happiness of life , a joyful dance in a blackground o mysterious shades .

Even the female nudes express something beyond physical spasms vibrant with passion , spiritual poses , extremely peculiar to every subject characterised by an evident spirituality .

This rich and varied production by Edmondo Albertella synthesises the research of many illustrious artists from Cannobio following in the wake of their fertile teachings.
